Scalp Micropigmentation Aftercare

Scalp micropigmentation has gained increasing popularity in recent years as a way of treating and hiding baldness. While much research goes into the treatment itself, scalp micropigmentation aftercare is equally as important as the micropigmentation process. Our aftercare guidelines outline below some of the most important steps for you to follow in the days following your treatment; by following these, you will encourage a healing process that is beneficial for your health and in optimising the end results.

The Day Of Treatment:

  • Let the treated area rest.
  • Do not apply any product and do not clean the treated area.
  • Avoid wetting the area or using any soap in the treated area.
  • Avoid submerging the area in water, including water containing chlorine or salt.
  • Avoid excessive sweating (i.e. from sports).
  • Do not use a sauna or a Turkish bath.
  • Avoid using helmets, caps, hats or hair prostheses for a prolonged period.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
  • Do not shave your scalp.

Two Days After Treatment:

  • Clean the treated area very softly in the morning and at night with the Tricopigmentation shampoo.
  • Apply 1 or 2 doses of the scalp micropigmentation lotion in the morning and at night on the treated area.
  • Avoid using any product for topical use that has not been previously presented.
  • Avoid submerging the area in water, including water containing chlorine or salt.
  • Avoid excessive sweating (i.e. from sports).
  • Do not use a sauna or a Turkish bath.
  • Avoid using helmets, caps, hats or hair prostheses for a prolonged period.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
  • Shave if desired.
  • Avoid going to the barber.
Micropigmentation

Seven Days After The Treatment:

  • Clean the treated area very softly once per day with the post-Tricopigmentation shampoo.
  • Apply 1 or 2 doses of the scalp micropigmentation lotion on the entirety of the treated area.
  • Avoid using any product for topical use that has not been previously presented.
  • Avoid submerging the area in water, including water containing chlorine or salt.
  • Avoid excessive sweating (i.e. from sports).
  • Do not use a sauna or a Turkish bath.
  • Avoid using helmets, caps, hats or hair prostheses for a prolonged period.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
  • Shave and/or go to the barber if desired.

Useful Information

The duration of the scalp pigmentation aftercare process varies for each individual and it can last from a few hours to a few days. Redness or itchiness are normal reactions after the treatment

Continuous Care Instructions

  • Always protect against the sun with high protection factor (SPF 50).
  • Moisturise regularly.
  • Set an evaluation appointment after 6 months to establish the annual maintenance plan (Trico-pigmentation only.)
