We provide two options for hair loss – Scalp Micropigmentation and Tricopigmentation. What’s the difference?

What is tricopigmentation?

Tricopigmentation (SMP) is a revolutionary technique that has been gathering advocates and strong support ever since it was patented in December of 2009. With the use of high quality natural pigment deposits, SMP artists create the illusion of a full head of hair follicles, fashionably styled in a buzz cut look or a razor shaved hairline.

The challenge of implementing a successful scalp tattoo session is a big one! There are many factors to consider like the original tendency of hair growth and density, the skin tone of the client and the fact that actual hair shafts are never the same size and thickness.

A ‘bad’ SMP job looks unnatural and can be detected as a means of covering up alopecia or rapid hair thinning further aggravating loss of confidence.

The SMP artist uses sterile precision needles with very fine points to deposit natural pigments into the epidermal layer of the scalp to mimic the growth pattern of hair follicles. These pigments are of the highest quality to ensure zero irritation. Custom pigment shades are mixed and matched right here at the Velvet Pigmentation Clinic for complete alignment with the skin tone of the client for a perfect ‘finish’. On an ‘as needed’ basis, multiple pigment shades are also deposited to create what best suits the client’s facial structure and skin tone.

Eve Pleavin, an active member of American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) is a tattoo veteran who has perfected the art of SMP. She regularly liaises with her US and European based peers keeping her methods and processes updated.

An Illusion That is a Lifestyle Change

An individual suffering from chronic hair loss can lose up to 100 hair strands each day. Coping with the effects of this symptom of an inner hormonal imbalance or genetic tendency can be difficult to say the least.

Dr. Brodell MD who is a professor of internal medicine at the dermatology section at North-Eastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine says, ‘For many people, their hair is what makes them feel beautiful.” (Or handsome!) When you lose your hair — for whatever reason, it can be devastating.’

Our present society is overly concerned with physical attractiveness and in the face of constant judgment from peers, spouses and even bosses; the loss of hair is not only aggravating but also tremendously demoralizing. In short if you do not look your best, you do not have the confidence to reach for your dreams and aspirations.

The ONLY guaranteed solution!

Medicinal and herbal concoctions are used to stem hair loss and for many this can be very expensive over the years….but do they work?

Transplants are costly surgical procedures. But the success rate is dubious at best. Many people complain of itching and allergies. Some procedures result in no hair growing from the transplanted follicles and other problems like shedding of the hair that does manage to grow put people off from these recourses.

For the lucky ones that it does work for SMP is an excellent partner, it can make the transplanted area look much denser giving the appearance of thick hair and more coverage.
